Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Consumer health data we collect
Homeplate may collect the following information when it is considered consumer health data under applicable law:
- Nutritional and health goals you choose to provide, such as goals related to nutrition, weight, or fitness.
- Dietary preferences and foods to avoid when those choices reveal or support an inference about health status.
- Health-related meal instructions you voluntarily include in a prompt or account profile.
- Inferences reflected in personalized meal plans generated from this information.
Homeplate does not ask you to identify or provide an allergy diagnosis. Options such as “gluten-free” are recorded and used as dietary preferences; Homeplate does not determine why you selected them or treat them as medical diagnoses.
Sources of consumer health data
We collect this information directly from you when you select preferences or goals, enter meal-planning instructions, edit a plan, or provide information for a household member. Our meal-planning systems may derive or infer information from those selections, instructions, and edits.
Why we collect and use consumer health data
We collect and use this information to provide the personalized meal-planning features you request, apply dietary preferences and nutritional or health goals, remember your settings, and generate or revise meal plans, recipes, and grocery lists.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell consumer health data or share it with third parties or affiliates as “sharing” is defined by the Washington My Health My Data Act. We have no affiliates with which we share consumer health data.
Relevant preferences, goals, prompts, and generated plan content may be processed by our LLM provider to generate or revise meal content and by our cloud hosting provider to host, store, secure, and transmit the service. These providers process data on our behalf to provide the service you request.
Your consumer health data rights
Where applicable, you may ask whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data; access that data; receive information about any third parties or affiliates with which it was shared or sold; withdraw consent for future collection or sharing; or request deletion.
To exercise these rights, email hello.homeplate@gmail.com with the subject “Consumer health data request.” Describe your request and provide the email address associated with your Homeplate account. We may verify your identity before acting.
If we deny your request, reply with the subject “Consumer health data appeal” and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We will respond to an appeal as required by applicable law and, if the appeal is denied, provide a method for contacting the appropriate regulator.
